Numerology Life Path 6

This article is part of a numerology series about the Life Path number and what it represents.(the essence of who you are, and your purpose). To calculate your Life Path, add up the day, month, and year of your birth, then keep reducing until you get to one number. For example, if you were born on November 25th, 1992 (11-25-1992), you would add: (1+1) + (2+5) + (1+9+9+2). This reduces to 2 + 7 + 3 = 12. Twelve reduces as follows: 1 + 2 = 3. You would be a Life Path 3.

If you have a 6 Life Path, then congratulations, because you have the most attractive number! This is the number of love, and your purpose – and challenge – throughout your life will be opening your heart to give and receive love freely. You also have the most responsibility on your hands, and duties/obligations will be your biggest stress point throughout your life. The number 6 is centered around the family unit, and as a 6 you tend to be the matriarch. Even if you are a man, there is less of the stark traditional father figure in you and more of the loving (but forever worrying) family leader.

As a life path 6, you are constantly seeking justice/balance (think Libra) and are often thrown into positions of leadership, because you are naturally like a sheep dog, trying to herd others to safety. As a result, you can also be a bit overly controlling and condescending, because you think you know what’s best for everyone. I think of LP 6s like perpetual eldest children…they shoulder a lot of responsibility and have to worry about their younger siblings, have the most chores, but in a way enjoy being the one their parents rely on to make things run smoothly.

6’s find it hard to let go and let others live their lives, and as a result can get a bit too judgmental at times. They don’t seem to realize how much their good opinion affects others, and how words of criticism can tear down those who look up to them. If you are a 6 and you don’t have a family, you’ll make a family of your friends, or if you don’t have a spouse you’ll uber-focus on your kids. You can easily become a helicopter parent, or that person that is always trying to rescue or “fix” others. Careful, that’s not love! Get yourself a creative project to focus on because on top of being the most attractive number, you’re also good at art and music and anything aesthetic (because life is fair). The payment for your many gifts is, of course, that you’re a perfectionist and are just as critical of yourself as you are of others.

Life path 6s care a lot. When people don’t let your love in, however, you can get very annoying to be around. You have high expectations of yourself and others, and people just can’t live up to that. You also (like Libra) blow icy cold when you aren’t happy, which is just another form of trying to control the people around you. Try letting go instead of tightening your grip when you get disappointed or stressed out, and remember that the ones you love are only human! If you must control something, let it be your business or hobby, and watch it flourish. I like 6s (I’m a 9) but they can be some of the most smothering people.

I think there’s also something Neptunian in the 6 energy because of the idealism and creative energy. You can use this to be really compassionate to others and successful in creative endeavors, or like Neptune/Pisces, you can let yourself become disappointed over and over when reality doesn’t live up to your high ideals. Or, you don’t take any action at all – in typical Libra fashion – because circumstances aren’t perfect. When you embrace the messiness of life and realize that on a larger scale it is perfect that way, you’ll be able to let the love flow more easily.

Saturn squares Neptune

This Friday (June 17th), transiting *Saturn at 12º Sagittarius will square Neptune in Pisces. This is a “big deal” transit, because these two planets are slow movers, and it takes a long time for them to get where they’re going. In fact, you may have started to feel this influence a month ago!

*The last time Saturn squared Neptune was November 26th, 2015 – the first of three squares, and the last will be in September 2016 – so this square is a continuation of issues from last November.

Saturn is the planet of restrictions, and it has been in the sign of possibilities – Sagittarius – since 2014. Your potentials are being pared down to only realistic ones. But what happens when Saturn butts heads with the planet of illusion, Neptune? What you thought was a viable option may have been smoke and mirrors. OR, what you thought was clear-cut has many shades of grey. OR, your vision is being tested. Because both of these planets will be retrograde on June 17th, this is an inner faith crisis.

Neptune in Pisces is a double-dose of rosy fog, because she’s in her natural home. But her bad qualities (brought out by the tense square) are exaggerated, too: escapism, disillusionment, and sacrifice. All three Saturn-Neptune squares are asking you, are you truly dedicated to your dream? Is this dream even a possibility? This particular one (the second square) is the internal part of the journey: your inner skeptic is questioning a long-standing dream, and asking if it’s even worth pursuing anymore.

So, who wins in Saturn vs Neptune? Outer planets usually trump ones closer to the Sun. How does the dreamer beat the realist? Faith, acceptance, and unwavering belief in her own vision. Neptune, and its natural sign Pisces, are not often thought of for their “strength.” But this is the strength of water, and water erodes everything over time (see: Grand Canyon).

Remember how water wins over rock: it absorbs a stone thrown into it, and continues flowing. It doesn’t resist or fight back, but it still triumphs. It allows itself to change form, at least temporarily, and in nature if you cannot bend then you break. So allow your dreams to shift and alter needed in the face of limitations, but don’t just give up on them. 😎

Neptune stations Retrograde

Neptune stations RetrogradeJune 12th, Neptune stations retrograde (9º Pisces), and the Sun squares Chiron (21º Pisces). That is a lot of sensitivity for one day! Check the Pisces area of your chart to see what’s going on there for you, personally.

Neptune is at home in Pisces, emphasizing imagination, visualization, and possibly escapism. Its 5-month retrograde period is an inner review period; there may be pain/confusion right now that requires you to step back. Perhaps your faith is wavering, or you are questioning what you put faith in at all. Clarity comes from intuition with Neptune/Pisces, and pay special attention to dreams during the retrograde (Neptune stations direct on November 18th).

The Sun squares Chiron, just one day after Mars squares Chiron. Mars may abrasively scrape an old wound that the Sun illuminates the next day. The key to this wound lies in the Pisces area of your chart, but also what was going on around March 7th, the first time Sun/Chiron made a connection? Did you have a newfound awareness of a vulnerability in your life? Perhaps you felt victimized by someone (Pisces is the martyr). The Sun and Chiron will come together again next year on March 10th, 2016 (21º Pisces), which may give you a resolution of this issue.

Although some won’t even feel the difference between Pisces Neptune direct and retrograde, you may if you have natal or progressed planets/angles/nodes from 7º- 9º of the mutable/water signs.

Planets/angles/nodes from 17º– 23º of the mutable/water signs will feel the Sun-Chiron square strongest.
